Reducing your congregation's energy use will not only save you money but will also reduce your carbon dioxide emissions. While there are many options for reducing your energy use, an energy audit is a great place to start. An audit serves as an energy and money savings road map in terms of setting direction, priorities and budget planning; guide Alaska IPL members along a meaningful energy efficiency course. Please visit our Energy Efficiency page for a list of relevant contacts, utility company information and other energy related resources. You can also conduct a do-it-yourself home energy audit. While you can complete a self-audit on your house of worship, we recommend that a professional audit (when available) is worth the expense, as an investment alone. Energy auditor Andy Baker of Your Clean Energy, LLC provides Alaska IPL members a 10% discount on audits for your house of worship. Mr. Baker has audited the following houses of worship: - St. Marys Episcopal Church/School – 22,500 ft2 – Anchorage – 2009 - St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church/School – 56,600 ft2 – Anchorage - 2009 - St. David’s Episcopal Church - 6,000 ft2 – Wasilla – 2008 - St. Ann’s Parish Hall – 6,400 ft2 – Juneau – 2008 - St. John’s Methodist Church -11,000 ft2 – Anchorage – 2008 - First Presbyterian Church -12,000 ft2 – Anchorage – 2008 - Immanuel Presbyterian Church – 7,200 ft2 – Anchorage - 2008 - Anchorage Unitarian Church – 5,000 ft2 – Anchorage - 2007
