Loving our NeighborsAs people of faith we have been instructed to care for Creation because Creation cares for humanity. Human actions that do not wisely steward Creation, pose the greatest risk to the world’s poor, who rely on healthy soils to grow food and shelter and water from rain. An earth in peril literally places humanity in peril.Living our ResponsibilityOur Creator entrusted us with the life-giving gifts of Creation: the air we breathe, precious water, soil to grow crops and animals to nourish us. And with these gifts came the responsibility to steward them prudently and justly.Spirit of SolidarityBy standing together as stewards of Creation, people of faith have the unique opportunity to join a movement, which underscores the most fundamental values of theology. Values unifying all people of faith regardless of creed: A love of our Creator upon which all spiritual life depends and a shared responsibility to steward Creation upon which all physical life depends. |
